Mentors and how have they assisted you in your career:
Having grown up in the family business I have had an opportunity to learn so much from my parents. Both are honest and caring people that continually guide each one of my siblings in and outside of the workplace.  My father pushes each of us to make good decisions for the business but isn’t afraid to have us learn some hard lessons along the way.  I can still hear the “good person, bad decision” being said by him as we learned some difficult things during adolescence.  I have also had numerous persons in the industry that I can always call on with questions. From our own, Guido Giantonio, to Dick Geary from C&S and some legends in the Consumer Affairs world who have opened up and shared some experiences with me to make my job much easier.

What are you most proud of in your career achievements? Do you have a defining moment of your career to date?
This past year I was able to kick off our first charity golf tournament for our Highland Park Families Foundation. Funding a foundation that has been able to assist people in our community is the proudest moment of my career thus far.

Most challenging part of your job:
The most challenging part of my job is finding time to get everything done in the day.   I enjoy working in the stores and being with our customers on a daily basis and I get frustrated when I don’t always find the time to get down and talk to them.

Advice for upcoming younger executives:
Whatever job you do, enjoy it and learn something from it.  Being able to do every part of the business makes you more valuable and also allows you to understand every employee that works for your business.

Hobbies:
I enjoy spending time with my nieces and nephews, going to the beach and reading a good book.  I love visiting Ireland and hope to live there for a period of time at some point in my life.
