Mentors and how have they assisted you in your career:
Very early in my career, I was fortunate to have a manager that believed in mentoring.  The day was never too hectic for a teaching moment, whether it be on a business issue, management style or customer perspective.   I share this investment in talent, taking advantage of mentoring moments and coaching opportunities to challenge individuals to stretch their boundaries and further their growth.

What are you most proud of in your career achievements? Do you have a defining moment of your career to date?
I believe strongly in investing in relationships across the organization to compliment my contributions and drive business performance in a collaborative way. I have been fortunate in my career to have many different roles, which have touched many different areas of the organization. Through these experiences, I have built a solid framework of business partners that collectively, we have contributed to the success of the organization.

The Ahold USA organization has undergone a transformation in the past year to a divisional structure, with more focus on local needs.  In my most recent role, as a senior leader in the division, I have had the opportunity, with so many others, to be a steward in this evolution. It is not often that this type of large-scale organizational change occurs.   I am very proud to have contributed to the execution of the transition and the cooperation that led to a successful implementation.

Most challenging part of your job:
As a senior leader in the finance organization, I find challenging myself and my team to stay focused on delivering the most value-added services and insights as foremost to contributing to the success of the organization. Our business is fast-paced and dynamic, focused on growth and efficiency. The challenge for the finance organization is to be equally as nimble and proactive in serving our customer needs.

Advice for upcoming younger executives:
Develop solid networks of relationships with your stakeholders and peers; you cannot be successful without a collaborative effort. Your personal development will be richer as a result of it. Have a positive approach to the role you are in, and while in this role, seek to expand your reach, by being proactive in anticipating customer needs. Listen to feedback from any and all that have taken the time to invest in your future.

Hobbies:
My passion and my husband’s passion is experiencing life through the eyes of my two children.
