Mentors and how have they assisted you in your career:
On a personal level my mentors have been my mother and my husband. My mother reinforced the importance of hard work, integrity and compassion for others.  My husband has always been supportive and proud of my accomplishments and is my greatest cheerleader.  Professionally I have been very fortunate to have had many wonderful and influential mentors during my 37-year career.  Most recently ShopRite’s President, Dave Figurelli, who gives us a vision that puts people first and foremost in everything we do.  He constantly reminds us that this is a service business and we should strive to stay ahead of our associate and customers’ needs.

What are you most proud of n your career achievements? Do you have a defining moment of your career to date?
I am very proud in my own career when years ago I was the first female at Big V ShopRite (now ShopRite Supermarkets, Inc.) to hold the positions of store director, area director and then vice president of operations.  I am equally proud to have helped in the development of many associates who worked for me and to watch them achieve their career goals.

Most challenging part of your job:
Finding enough time to accomplish it all.

Advice for upcoming younger executives:
Be passionate about your work. Strive to exceed expectations and never compromise your principles.
