Dutch Farms, Inc.
SE Regional Manager

Years with company:  11 years 9 months

Education degrees and professional/volunteer organizations: I have served on the Board of the Alabama Grocers Association for the past 13 years. I am also a member of the Georgia Food Industry Association and the Florida Retail Federation.

Mentors and how have they assisted you in your career: I have been in this industry for about 35 years and it is certainly one that is heavily reliant on the connections you make with others. Although I have had many mentors throughout my career that have shown me how to be successful in this business, I would consider my mother to be my most influential mentor. She taught me the importance of being a good person and reinforced the belief that I could achieve anything I set my mind to, regardless of the fact that I am a woman. She also taught me the importance of taking pride in myself and what I do, giving 100%, and always keeping my word. These skills and traits have been an integral part of my success in this industry.

What are you most proud of in your career achievements? Do you have a defining moment of your career to date? In 2010, I was recognized as the “Manufacturer of the Year” by the Alabama Grocers Association. In 2012, I was award the “Vendor of the Year” by Associated Grocers of the South.  However, my career achievements are not only represented in the awards and professional recognition I have received. I am proud, daily, to see the results of my hard work and dedication. While with Dutch Farms, I have not only grown my marketing area, but also my sense of confidence in my abilities.

Most challenging part of your job: The biggest challenge for me currently is to understand all of the aspects of the Dairy Business. Part of continued success in this industry is being able to adapt to an ever changing marketplace!

Advice for upcoming younger executives: It is not enough to know your company and the industry, you must also know the people that you working with. Relationships are an essential component of this career, and they are built on commitment and trust.

Hobbies: Boating, traveling, cooking, antiquing, visiting the beach, and simply enjoying life.
