Janet O’Connor, Roche Bros.Janet O’Connor

Roche Bros.
Director of Community Relations

Years with company:  43 years

Mentors and how have they assisted you in your career:
I first started in my position working directly with Pat and Bud Roche.  Their values and commitment to family and community has made a huge impact on my professional career as well as my personal life.

What are you most proud of in your career achievements? Do you have a defining moment of your career to date?
Being able to help local organizations in fundraising events allows you to connect with the local communities.  But the most fulfilling things are the ability to help those in need and to make sure that they are fed and their basic needs are being met.  We do this by working closely with the many local food pantries and community outreach organizations.  Knowing that you make a difference in someone’s life is amazing.

Most challenging part of your job:
The most challenging part of the job is to reach out to the largest number of people and organizations that you can and to make a difference in the community.

Advice for upcoming younger executives:
To work for a company such as Roche Bros where the family allows you to promote the company by helping and serving the community.
